Education

Aiming Higher in Education and R&D.

With 8 public universities, 15 two-year and community colleges, offering coursework at more than 36 centers, and more than a dozen private colleges, Mississippi's higher learning options and opportunities multiply by the year, even as the common denominator remains the same:  excellence across the board.

Our passion for knowledge is part of our heritage:  the world's first heart transplant was performed here, and today our cutting-edge R&D is changing the world.   A few highlights:

Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems (CAVS) at Mississippi State University:  Since opening, this interdisciplinary center has become a global leader in education and research in the development of engineering solutions for sustainable mobility. Visit website.
