It's time to get out of gridlock and get into something more comfortable.  With shorter commute times, Mississippians have more hours—along with more places and more ways—to enjoy life.  You can begin outdoors, on more than one million acres of hunting land, 5,000 acres of scenic lake waters in 21 well-stocked lakes and 27 state parks; there's also boating and floating on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway and the sandy beaches of the Mississippi Gulf.

And while time tends to fly when you're having fun here, your dollar goes longer and farther; Mississippi ranks 10th in low cost of living.  Our cultural currency is pretty impressive too—today, we are a permanent host of the International Ballet Competition, we have museums around nearly every corner, and as the birthplace or home of so many world-changing artists and writers, our literary, musical and artistic roots run deep.
